Brenton Treverton, or ‘BT’ as he is usually known by fellow members, began his Bowling career at Woodville Bowling Club where he played 72 Pennant games from 1982/83 – 1985/86.
He joined Modbury Bowling Club for the 1986/87 season and has been a club stalwart ever since.
His records show that on completion of the 2022/23 season he had represented Modbury in Saturday Competitions on 671 occasions – more than 500 games in Modbury’s Premier side. In Wednesday midweek competition he has racked up 432 Games.
BT Has won 3 Club Singles Championships his first in 1988/89. He is a 7-time Cub Pairs Champion, also winning the State Champion of Champions Event in 1998/99 and Runner up in 1999/2000.
During the 1990’s he represented SA on 38 occasions. During this era, he enjoyed competition against national Australian greats, including Rob Parella, Dennis Katunarich, Steve Glasson and Kelvin Kerkow.
He served on the Committee as Greens Manager for 6 years and was elected a Life Member in 2016.
A bad back saw him convert to a bowling arm and he is still enjoying pennant bowling while mentoring new and less experienced bowlers.
