The day was an idyllic day for playing bowls with plenty of sunshine and a slight breeze. Good to see the roses are out in bloom as they make a colourful display. 66 players turned up to play alternate games on A and C Greens. It was a day of mixed fortunes for some. Ken Williams, who came in at the last minute as a fill in for one of the teams was among the second game winners and also took first prize in the raffle draw for the meat tray. Not so lucky was a team that did not win one end in the second game. That’s bowls for you, win some, lose some, but no matter what the outcome it’s good to be out in the open air enjoying the camaraderie and the club’s surrounds.

This week’s ‘lucky’ number for the jackpot draw of $65 was 16, which will carry over into next week’s draw as nobody claimed the prize. Thanks to Rob Jackway for coming in early to help with preparations for the day’s event and Kevin Neumann for selling the raffle tickets and running the draw.
