What a great winter’s day for bowls! And what a turn out! Organisers were rapt that 28 teams nominated for the competition causing the set up 8 rinks on both C and D greens for the very first time. The competition was fierce too, as can be seen by the winning scores.
Today’s winners were Bob Basedow, Wayne Lindsay and Brenton Treverton with as score of 54 +14 shots up; on a countback in second place also with 54 and +10 shots up were Des Campbell, Stu Jolly and Rod Bahr. The jackpot number of +15 did not find a winner and organisers are expecting next week‘s ‘pot’ to be nearing $400.
To make sure of a game next Friday 7th August, it is essential to get your team on the entry sheet early as the maximum number of rinks available is 16 (for 32 teams). I have been told this morning (Saturday 1st August) that 25 teams are already on the nomination sheet.
