At first there was some scepticism on whether play would commence as the start of play was delayed due to a sudden downpour of rain. However, after checking the rain radar on the ‘BOM Weather’ app which showed a dispersed cloud pattern and the end of the shower, it was decided to venture out and begin play. 74 players attended the event, which included two teams of four to enable every registered player to get a game.
This week’s two game winners were Peter Tiss, Graham Thomas and Ron Troost who scored 55 points with 20 shots up. In second place were Alan Canton, Mick Schoenfeldt, Stuart Jolly and Wayne Haskett on 54 points and 17 shots.
A thank you to Tim Arbon, Ken Raymond and their crew of volunteers for maintaining the greens and the surrounding rose garden (which has recently had its annual prune – what a job!). Also a thank you to Les Scott for running the raffle and Rob Jackway for helping in the Office.
The number drawn for this week’s jackpot of $405 was +14 and was won by the team of Christine McCulloch, Bob Basedow and Frank Francese. Next week will be the start of a new jackpot.
