Numbers were down presumably due to the hot weather. It was hot at first, but there was a slight breeze later in the afternoon which provided some relief from the humid conditions. 46 players attended the event with a field of 14 triples and 2 pairs who played on C and D Greens. The club welcomed Trish and Roger Lingard, visitors from the UK who found it challenging to play on the fast synthetic surface.
1st Game Winners: Garry Swalling, Roger Frick and Geoff Cutler on 28 points + 9 shots
2 Game Winners: John Foley and Ian McPhillips on 53 points + 9 shots
2 Game Runners-up: Ian Edwards, Lou Fitzgerald and Derek Hostler on 52 points + 6 shots
The first jackpot of the year certainly didn’t last long. The lucky number drawn was 4 and the $50 prize was shared between the teams of, Sheila Dempsey, Ken Barthelson and Peter Stewart and Peter Tiss, Dave Windram and Ron Troost.
