With temperature forecast of 23 degrees but actually reaching 25 it was a great last winter’s day for bowls. With the knowledge “TomTom” Keynes would be absent, and with pennant trials commencing next Saturday, a field of 48 players turned out for the final winter competition. Though the wind made conditions quite difficult some excellent bowls dominated the day. Major winners were the Jim Youngson/John Morris team with 55 point +23 shots up on a countback from the Pat McGuinness/Jose Gil combination 55 points + 23 shots up. Today was the final Jackpot day so numbers were drawn (7 times) until Sam and Peter Horsnell were victorious with +1. Jackpot pairs will now continue each Monday throughout the Pennant Season.
