Fortunately, the morning showers eased off before midday leaving the rest of the day cloudy, but dry, without the cold gusty winds we’ve had of late. Once again, it was another good turnout with 90 players taking up the 15 available rinks.

2nd Game Winners: Daryl Mackiewicz, David Carter and Mick Dunt on 27 points + 17 shots
2 Game Winners: Paul Giles, Dave Windram and Gary Julian on 53 points + 14 shots
2 Game Runner-up: Alan Atkinson, Vic Hill and John Stevens on 53 points + 4 shots
This week’s jackpot draw for $260 was -5. Two teams had the required number, but as there can only be one clear winner the jackpot will carryover into next week’s draw. A thanks to Les Scott for running the raffle and Rob Jackway who assisted with preparations for the day’s event.
‘Friday Triples’ is proving to be quite popular at present, so it is essential that members enter their names on the attendance sheet as early as possible to ensure they don’t miss out on a game. A sheet for the following Friday is usually placed on the notice board near the office by 11 AM. Preferences for single entries (if required) will be given to members first.
Don’t forget, hot pies and pasties are available on the day – just put your name and preference on the list provided by the club or try some of Jose’s hot soup.
