A field of 15 rinks competed in the day’s event, weathering the chilly wet conditions that prevailed throughout the afternoon. Once again ‘Fagin’ was in favour with a number of players walking the walk of shame. Both the 2 game winners were tied on 54 points with 10 points being the difference.
This week’s winners and grinners are:
1st Game Winners: Garry Swalling, Geoff Cuttler and Roger Atkins on 28 points + 9 shots
2nd Game Winners: Ann Sheehan, Mike Sheehan and David Moate on 27 points + 10 shots
2 Game Winners: Alan Whitmarsh, Des Campbell and Iggy on 54 points + 27 shots
2 Game Runner-up: Lindsay Packer, Mary-Ann Haines and Mike Haines on 54 points + 17 shots
This week’s jackpot draw for $695 was +16. There was a sudden burst of excitement from one group who thought they had won the jackpot, but hopes were dashed when a second group also claimed to have the same number of shots up in the second game. As there was no clear winner the jackpot will carryover into next week’s draw. Thanks to Roy Howcroft and Iggy for selling the raffle tickets and Les Scott for drawing the raffle. Also, Rob Jackway who assisted with preparations for the day’s event.
Hot pies and pasties are available on the day – just put your name and preference on the list provided by the club or try some of Jose’s hot soup. If you’re thinking of buying any bowling equipment check out the club’s recently installed ‘Bowls Shop’ which has a variety of bowls, shoes, bags, arms and other accessories.
Keep Them Rolling,
